9 November 2009 saw the opening of the Reklama’2009 international exhibition, which is held by Expocentre and the National Advertising Association for the 17th time.

‘This year the exhibition brought together 180 companies from 11 countries. The participation in the main Russian advertising event is extremely important, as it is one of the factors that enables companies to retain their position in the market in the harsh economic environment,’ – underlined Deputy Director General of Expocentre Fairgrounds Anatoly Sobolev, welcoming the participants in Reklama’2009.

Recognizing the importance of advertising for all sectors of the domestic economy, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Government of Moscow regularly support the Reklama exhibition. In his address to the exhibitors and organizers of the event, Senior Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Boris N. Pastukhov noted that the Reklama exhibition had gained a high international status, confirmed with the international attendance figures.

Welcoming the exhibitor and visitors of the exhibition Deputy of Moscow State Duma Alexandr Krutov and President of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Leonid Govorov spoke on the significant role of the advertising industry in development of the economy of Russia as a whole, and of Moscow in particular. The global economic crisis has affected the development of the Russian and international advertising markets, however the advertising industry remains a powerful tool to fight the challenges of the crisis and to advance the industry, the trade and the international relations to a new stage of development. And Reklama’2009, incorporated into the Russian Advertising Week, will definitely contribute to this process.

A considerable part of the exhibition programme is addressing the key issues associated with the current state of the advertising industry and its prospects. On the first exhibition day the Advertising Committee of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Council of Associations of the Media Industry and the Russian Chapter of the International Advertising Association held a joint session, where they discussed the current state of the Russian advertising industry in the run-up to the 2010 IAA World Congress in Moscow. Speaking at the opening of the Reklama’2009 exhibition Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Andrei Kashevarov underlined that such a large scale event as the 2010 IAA World Congress would be held in Moscow for the first time, which testified to a great interest in the Russian advertising market and to its integration into the global advertising industry.

‘Reklama’2009 is a major event that indicates the development and evolution of the advertising industry,’ – stated Chairman of the Advertising Committee of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President of the National Advertising Association Boris Shkolnikov.

The 17th international specialized exhibition Rekilama’2009 will accelerate the development of the Russian advertising industry. We invite industry specialists to take part in the business-related programme of the exhibition.

Reklama’2009 is running till 12 November in Pavilion No. 2 of Expocentre Fairgrounds. The exhibition is open from 10.00 to 18.00 each day, closing at 16.00 on 12 November.
